I just bought a new laptop!

My old laptop died a few weeks ago (thank god for my trusty desktop playing backup), and I've been dying for a new one since. I've been trying to hold out for Black Friday, but I just couldn't. Especially since I want a customized computer - even ordering it today, I shouldn't receive it until after Thanksgiving. I can't imagine waiting until December for one.

The good thing is - if a great deal becomes available on BF, I can just return this new computer unopened if I want to buy a different one. But if this one stays, I should have a brand spankin' new (and much better than my six-year-old Dells, which nevertheless have treated me awesomely) computer! I'm excited!!! It'll have a TV tuner and 500gigs of space and 4gbs of ram!

lost - killing brain cells - linusmoriar

(no subject)

Ok, I am officially done reading every Lost spoiler that comes out. I feel I am on the verge of finding out things I don't want to know. I'm still receiving notices of updates, though, so if set pictures are leaked, I may look at those, because I still want to know about Matthew Fox's hair. (Oh, what fandom does to us.)

I'm posting this here in the hopes that it'll actually give me the fortitude to stay away. Because I want to be surprised, and if I keep on reading spoilers until the premiere in January/February, I'll know stuff for about half of the season, which would be a bummer. I keep on thinking how much it would have sucked to not be surprised at the third season finale (which I know was spoiled), and how I could feel very similarly if I keep this up. So.... I am trying to go spoiler free. There.

In other news, how awesome is this fall TV season? I've actually grown rather attached to The Vampire Diares (I was 'ehh' on the first episode, but it totally grew on me!), Flashforward and Glee, so score one for new TV shows! Plus some old favorites (HIMYM, Bones, House, SPN, BBT) are great right now.

Happy 10th Birthday, Angel (the Series)! I can remember in vivid detail the night it premiered - I was so psyched, and I loved that pilot so much. I can't believe it's been ten years. Eeesh.

CAN'T WAIT until Lost comes back.

This is inspired by reading Lost S6 spoilers. (Which I need to STOPSTOPSTOP doing, because I really don't want to know what happens. But I caaaaaaaaan't stop.)

What the heck are we all going to do when Lost is over?

(Answer: Marathon all six seasons and (hopefully) be impressed with how well everything was answered. )

This is super delayed because the party just ended at my house, but HOLY CRAP USC. I'm so happy we pulled that one off. I think I burned 1000 calories worth of stress in that game. Geez. And that final drive! It was a thing of beauty.

It's a good day to be a Trojan.

Fight On!

I'm jumping on the bandwagon and listing my TV schedule for this year. A warning: it's HUGE.

MONDAY: (aka the day my DVRs earn their money)
8PM:
House. Not as good as it used to be, but I still love the medical mysteries and House's grouchiness.
How I Met Your Mother. It makes me laugh, and I can't wait to see Barney and Robin attempt a relationship.
Heroes. I didn't watch every episode of last season, but it's a good show to have on the DVR when bored.
Gossip Girl. Another show I don't watch religiously, but enjoy when I do.
Chuck. (Midseason) Soooo glad this got renewed. One of my favorite new shows from the past few years.
Greek. This show is so much fun. It's like TV candy.
9PM:
One Tree Hill. Laugh all you want, but OTH is an awesome primetime soap.
The Big Bang Theory. I loooooooove nerd jokes. And Sheldon.
Day One. (Midseason) Gonna give this one a try.
24. (Midseason) I usually let this show stack up on the DVR and watch several in a row, which is great.
10PM:
Castle. Probably my favorite new procedural from last year. Gotta love Nathan Fillion.

TUESDAY:
8PM:
NCIS. The USA reruns addicted me to this show last year, so you can bet I'll be watching.
9PM:
NCIS: LA. A NCIS spin-off with LL Cool J and Chris O'Donnell? I'm there.

WEDNESDAY:
8PM:
Glee. Heck yes! Loved the first episode, and am totally excited for all the new songs. Yay!
Mercy. (Midseason) I usually give medical procedurals a try, so I'll probably watch this one.
9PM:
Criminal Minds. Another one where the reruns drew me in. I love me some serial killer profilers!
Lost. (Midseason) Lost, please don't leeeeeeeeeave me! I'm gonna miss this one when its over.

THURSDAY: (Another day where my DVRs are v. v. useful)
8PM:
Vampire Diaries. A CW show about vampires with Boone and Tommy from Everwood? Sign me up!
Bones. Even if I didn't love this show (I do.), I'd never give it up. I need my weekly David Boreanaz, dammit! It's a 12 year fix, now. (I'm still not sure how I got through the 2004-2005 season, when he wasn't on anything. Misery. :) )
Flash Forward. I'll always give sci-fi/time travel shows a try. Speaking of, I need to finish the first season of Fringe still.
9PM:
Supernatural. This show has gotten so much better than I ever would have expected way back when I watched the premiere.
Grey's Anatomy. Yes, I know. But the finale last year was freaking awesome!
The Office. I marathoned the latter part of last season a few days ago, and damn, I really do love this show.
10PM:
Private Practice. Occasionally preachy, but almost always funny and enjoyable. Plus, I love all the characters. A rarity in a melodramatic/soap opera-ish show.

FRIDAY:
8PM:
Smallville. I don't watch every episode, but I usually have fun when I do. Plus, this season looks good!
9PM:
Dollhouse. Joss Whedon show? Check! Multiple Jossverse and BSG actors? Double check! Plus, I rewatched the whole first season on dvd a few weeks ago and liked it a whole lot more the second round.

This doesn't include some of the summer shows that are still on - Psych, True Blood, Drop Dead Diva, Leverage, etc. Plus, there are few midseason shows (like V) that I don't have the time slot info for yet, so they'll have to be worked in later.

But yeah, my DVR is getting a real workout this year.

Oh, USC Football, I love you.

It was way too hot and sunny today (we're way too spoiled in CA), and we had a very slow first quarter, but we picked it up with 56 uninterrupted points and I had a fabulous time, especially once I moved to the shade.

So, can we not blow it on a gimme game this year and actually return to the national championship? Because I'd love to go to the Rose Bowl for the FIFTH YEAR IN A ROW. Of course, this time, it'll be for a much bigger game. (And not another Texas, please, that game still makes my heart hurt.)

 ARGH.

How is it that youtube disabled my account without notifying me? I use one account for viewing videos (making favorites, subscribing, etc) and one for uploading videos, because I'd had my account disabled before and lost all my subscriptions, so now I do them separately - but they totally disabled the account with all of my videos without even emailing me!

FAIL, YOUTUBE. FAIL.

Ah, I love being in Southern California in the summer. It's 75 degrees and sunny outside, with a slight breeze. I'm watching Leverage (always tons of fun) and my dog is sitting on my lap.

Excellent day.

Now if only Joss would bring Angel to the Buffy comics for real. I think if he gave them a happy ending, I could die happy. :)
